First there was nothing.

Actually, that’s a lie.

First there was attraction,

then an explosion of life

and then it was quiet for

a long time.

Slowly there was warmth

and darkness and muffled

voices from a distant room.

Just when things started

to get uncomfortable there

was a squeezing     a push

and a welcoming! followed

by warmth and light and

voices near and clear.

For a long time. Until finally...

language.

And the world grew for many years.

I welcomed both warmth and cold,

light and dark, voices of love and

sometimes of anger. How could I not

be blessed by these gifts from a world

so much larger than myself? A universe

to whom I was still smaller than an egg?

And one day,

just when things start

to get uncomfortable,

I will once again hear

muffled voices from a

distant room. There

will be a calling.

Then an explosion of life.

And then there will be

a welcoming.
